France starts issuing visas in Oman

A visa application centre has been opened at the Oman’s French Embassy located in its capital city of Muscat.

The VFS Global will accept visa applications at its centre and lets applicants enrol for biometrics.

Said to be located at Muscat Grand Mall in Dohat Al Adab Street, Al Khuwair, it began offering services from 8 November.

France is reportedly a popular tourist destination with the citizens of the Sultanate of Oman, and the opening of this centre will make application of visas easier for them through more sophisticated application processes.

Travel Daily Media quotes Mr. Roland Dubertrand, Ambassador of France to Oman, as saying at the launch that the French Embassy had chosen VFS Global for collecting the visa applications in Oman in a bid to provide enhanced service to the steadily growing number of applicants for visas and also to attract more people from Oman and other foreign nationals to France.

This is said to be the fourth country to open a visa application centre in the Middle East for France. The others are located in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
